Sessions:
1. Executive Desktop: The Executive Desktop is the newest module in the family of integrated modules in PMAS.
Developed in cooperation with a major client, the ED provides a high level overview of the data for the busy real estate
executive, with readily available reports, photos, plans and any other valuable information. Need more detail? Just
click on the item, and down you go into the PMAS database.
2. Report Package Manager: Long a valuable tool for PMAS users, this module is being reintroduced as part of
ACS. When the AS/400 printer spool with its text-based reports was dropped in favor of the PC-created and printed
reports, we lost the ability to capture and control the output of print jobs. With the re-release of this module, we have
reacquired control over the printed output and can create the report packages you need to distribute, even when the
reports are run at different times and on different computers. Distribution options will include printing, emailing, and
archiving for later access.
3. TUMS - Tickler Utility Management System: Ever miss a deadline? Who hasn’t! TUMS will make sure you
and your organization never miss an important deadline again. If the recipient is out of touch, the automatic Bump List
redistributes the notice to others in your organization that need to step in and handle the situation in a timely fashion.
You can even use TUMS to print or email notices and reminders to outside parties, which keeps everyone properly
informed and on time.
4. Advanced Crystal Reporting: Been using CRW for a while? Attended the class, made some changes to the SSI
formats, created some of your own. Let’s get together and share our insights, including some of the tricks that
experienced users have found to make their jobs easier and more creative. While this session will be instructor-led, it
will be a participative, learning experience for all attendees. Prior experience with CRW is required.
5. Do You Know.... Challenge your understanding and knowledge of what’s available to you with PMAS. Rick and
his team have assembled lots of little tips and techniques that you will find interesting.
6. Management Reporting:
- Crystal Decisions (formerly Seagate Software): Crystal Reports, Analysis, and Info
- Online Spreadsheet Report Writer
- Rental and Operating Statistics
- LADS & PADS data
Our discussion centers on using all the software tools available to create information packages for your
managers, owners, and investors. The PMAS database is loaded with information. The PMAS database is loaded
with information that someone in your organization wants and needs, if it’s properly presented. Instructor-led, the
session will ask attendees to discuss their unsatisfied reporting needs and how PMAS can resolve them.
7. Regulated/Tax Credit: Discussion will cover the new Section 42 Tax Credit module, the new Farmers Home
module, and the changes to the HUD/TRACS module.
8. Budgeting & Rental Projections: Discussions will cover the use of the PMAS budgeting system to develop and
modify your 2002 budgets and operating plans. Using the built-in rental projection tool, account level worksheets and
notes, and statistical categories and formulas will be covered. Participants will be asked by the instructor to contribute
their ideas and needs in using the PMAS budgeting tools in their organizations.
9. A Day in Support: How to get your problems addressed: We will present an overview of how our Support
operates internally. The tools you have for contacting SSI and reporting problems or requesting help and assistance
will be discussed. Review how to enter and track your inquiries using the SSI Internet Support System.
10. G/L Reporting: The instructor will lead discussions and present examples related to using all the various General
Ledger reporting tools in the PMAS family of modules, including CRW, to create the kinds of financial reports you and
your organization need to manage your properties.
11. Imaging: Introducing a whole new way of filing and retrieving documents requires some serious planning and
structuring to insure a successful implementation. If imaging is to achieve the kinds of results you expect in your
organization, advance planning is a must. Discussions will cover what you need to consider and plan for when
implementing imaging, how to set up for the planning and implementation process, and the benefits you can achieve.
12. Invoice Approval Processing and Workflow: Built on the concept that uses imaging as the technology to
communicate and route information, Invoice Approval Routing is designed to capture the invoice and then route it
electronically through all the review and approval steps. Once properly approved, the information automatically goes
into the Accounts Payable system for final editing and processing.
The invoice is always trackable through this process and will never again be lost in someone else’s in box.
13. Working Round Tables: Discussions on what’s there, what’s not required, and what’s needed to make life
easier.
- Residential PM-- What are the PM’s using from PMAS, what do they need?
- Commercial-- Now that we’ve released LADS, PADS, Escalators and Percentage Rents, what
are your people using and what do they need?
- Regulated Housing-- Discussion on 50059s, vouchers, billing, etc.
- Payroll-- Where do we go from here?
- Job Cost & Work Order-- Review and discussion
14. Using the Abstract Design System: LADS and PADS: Discussion and examples of how to set up the free form
abstracts to handle your lease and property data, including linking to the data already in PMAS, adding your own data
fields, and designing data grids, along with integrating Imaging and TUMS into the abstracting process.
15. Interfacing to the Outside World: Using the Internet and other communications vehicles to get, send, and receive
information. This discussion will focus on topics like letting your tenants enter work order requests, inquire into their
accounts, and pay their rents with a credit card. We will also discuss interfacing with your banks and other needs that
you may have.
16. Remote Site Processing: What are your options when you decide to connect your site offices for processing?
We’ll talk about SSI’s flagship solution, Remote ACS, and compare it to Terminal Server (with and without Citrix).
These discussions will cover the differences in how the connections are made, how the users process, the administrative
aspects and how they benefit you.
17. Letter Writing and Archiving: Learn how the PMAS Letter Writer can save you time. Create letters and
documents from the PMAS database with auto-archiving and retrieval to eliminate paper filing.
18. IBM and the AS400: It’s not just the AS400 anymore. This session will focus on IBM and the future of the
AS400-- its direction and IBM’s continued commitment to the AS400 product line.
